Summer is here! I’ve been reading books for the past few months and haven’t had a chance to share them all until now. In your single season you have plenty of opportunities to learn and grow as an individual. These books are geared those who want to improve their lives and relationship with God, which should be all of us! April: The Wait by DeVon Franklin and Meagan Good

The Wait bookThis book was a really good read for those who are open to practicing celibacy and who are currently waiting whether they are single or in a relationship. But the book goes past that premise as well to cover you becoming the best version of what God’s destined you to be.

I’ll share more of what I gained from the book in a separate post! Get your copy here

“The Wait is about you winning the battle over that unaffirmed, lonely, needy, or desperate feeling inside and refusing to let it drive your choices or determine your actions. It’s about becoming complete in yourself so that the real gifts that you bring to relationship go far beyond sexuality.”

May: The Single Christian Woman’s Guide by Russelyn Williams

Single Christian Womans GuideI know Russelyn personally, so it’s a blessing to see someone pursue her assignment in the form of a book geared to single women in Christ. The first word that comes to mind after reading this book is wisdom.

Russelyn not only shares what she’s received from God in her personal relationship, but godly wisdom attained from her past experiences with dating and being an unmarried woman in the church with a promise for her life.

“The Single Christian Woman’s Guide” is a book that goes through some of the struggles that Single Christian women face, and shares some nuggets to help single Christian women stand firm in their season of singleness.”

This book I definitely recommend for women of God who want to marry. We face some real issues in our emotions, dealing with the opposite sex, and developing our relationship with God. This book covers it! Get your copy here

June: Are You a Reflection of the Man You’re Praying For? By Liz Lampkin

LizLampkinThis is another book for women, but it’s a good read that encourages you to dig deep and ask yourself some real questions including the one in the title.

Liz shares her trials and errors in relationships and reveal the common mistakes that single women of God make when dating, courting and being pursued by men. What makes her book even more practical are the self reflection questions at the end of each chapter and in the book.

This is a recommended read for you and an accountability partner or mentor to help you answer the questions open and honestly. This book allows you to be vulnerable before God with any errors that you may have made in trusting Him regarding relationships and how to get back on track with God.

The book also has questions specifically for groups to navigate together. Get your copy here

Krista Pettiford bookThe book I’m reading this month is by a fellow faith blogger Krista Pettiford. With inspiration from the book of Ruth she crafted this book to help women see themselves as God sees them. Get your copy here
