#SingleGoals2020: Glenda is encouraging others all over the world

Hey BLISS fam! Our next #SingleGoals2020 feature is Glenda G. from Charlotte, North Carolina! She’s living her best life as a single over 45 and is on a mission! Check out her #SingleGoals for this year:

BLISS: Share how you are making the most out of your singleness:

Glenda: I’m simply just being patient and friendly, having fun, and letting God reproduce His character in me, as painful as it is. I also enjoy doing things I like to do: traveling, photography, cooking and baking new things, creating memes, encouraging and exhorting others on social media.

However, in my spirit I dismiss any new man I meet who doesn’t line up with my purpose. I’ve observed that many are enticed away from their purpose by marriage. Then the rest of their lives are unfulfilled because they’re focused on making their marriages work instead of God’s “new” purpose for them, and repenting of rebelling against God’s call for them.

BLISS: What is one piece of advice that you would like to share with other singles?

G: Wait on God, not on man. And while you’re waiting, let Him reproduce His character in you—you’ll need it to get married and stay married the right way!

BLISS: What are you currently doing in ministry or for the Kingdom of God?

G: As I sit here in the US, I’m waiting to return to Zimbabwe in less than a month. God told me (a really long time ago) to get my degree in social work and go there to help with the economy. It’s interesting, the observations and ideas that came to me in the 4 1/2 weeks I was there during the summer. I think God wants me to implement them, with His strength and timing. When I return, I’ll enter a Christian training program via YWAM DTS (Discipleship Training School) and branch out from there.

BLISS: Anything else that you’d like to share with us?

G: One of my favorite funny quotes: “Age is a matter of the mind. If you don’t mind, it don’t matter.”
