The misconception of giving your heart away

Yes, it is possible to give pieces of your heart away to different people. This phenomenon can be related to soul ties but you can give your soul to a person and not your heart and vice versa. Just like a person can give their body away (spiritually) to many people, you can give your heart to many people. That’s why some people get caught in a love triangle, pentagon or octagon because so many people have their hearts for different reasons.

One person may provide nurturing, another person may provide security, another may provide sexual satisfaction. The Soul is made up of the mind, will, imagination, emotions (not necessarily love/heart related) and intellect. Having a heart and soul tie is a bondage that can be difficult to break away from. Some of our hearts and souls look like the cell phone map coverage of America. Lord, help us to give our hearts and souls back to You!

Should I be giving my heart to my future spouse? What does that look like?

You should never give your heart to ANYONE. God is the only person that should have your heart. Your future spouse should experience the love in your heart that you have for God that happens to overflow into your relationship with them. There is no scriptural basis for giving our hearts to our husbands.

What should a future wife’s heart look like? What should a husband’s heart look like?

Every heart should be in the hand of the Father. It should be pure and full of God’s Word. David said in Psalm 119:11 that he will hide the Word of God in His heart. [bctt tweet=”Your heart should look like a tattoo full of scriptures and promises from God.” username=”bliss_bcs”] If my heart is like God’s heart, I cannot go wrong. Having a heart check on a moment by moment basis will keep the heart pure like the heart of Christ.
