In less than a week, I will be 33 years old. I don’t feel any more older, but I feel more refined and purposed. As many believers may know, Jesus fulfilled His purpose in His human form at that age, taking the sins of the world on His shoulders as He hung on a rugged cross. Our Lord Jesus was purposed to give, He lives to give, and He loves to give.
Since all of these beautiful and selfless attributes are in His nature, they are also in ours. Our qualities in selflessness and giving of course have to be developed, but when you get to a place of truly desiring to do more for others, God will open up avenues for you.
In my private time with God, I shared one of my lifetime goals: to set up a scholarship and grant fund to help students (current and graduates) to pay towards their student loan debt. This has been both a thorn in my side personally and a passion of mine for over ten years. It’s a personal pain of being in student loan debt post-graduation, but at this point in my life I am starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and I look forward to one day helping other people obtain funding for their education! #futurephilanthropist
It also reminds me of what I desire to do through BLISSforSingles, give in a way that inspires my fellow singles to live their single lives on purpose, living and loving to give to God and others. Finally I’ll add this: when you focus on your purpose and giving to others, the pains that you go through, even the pains of singleness, you will receive something great in return. I’ve witnessed that so many times in my life. When you give back God’s way you’re worshiping Him. When you give back His way you are doing so with a purpose. We were after all created to give God glory (Isaiah 43:7).
At nearly 33 I am seeing the benefits of giving back in this season of my life, how about you?
