#SingleGoals2020: Nadia is blooming at her own pace

We’re continuing our #SingleGoals2020 series with a trip to the Windy City to catch up with Nadia H.! She is a beautiful and modern example of “you don’t look like what you’ve been through.” We’re honored to get a part of her story and her inspiration for fellow singles in this interview here:

BLISS: Share how you are making the most out of your singleness:

Nadia H.: “I am making the most of my singleness by establishing an unwavering commitment to my healing journey. I’ve been confronting toxic habits, challenging warped perspectives about womanhood and creating healthy traditions too! Quite naturally, this healing journey held a mirror to many areas of my free will that had to be intentionally surrendered to God.”

BLISS: What is one piece of advice that you would like to share with other singles?

NH: “I would encourage other unmarried people to heal and grow at your own pace! Rushing through key experiences puts you at a disadvantage and places unhealthy expectations for you to arrive.”

“The pace of your life’s story is a safe guard and not a hindering block.”

BLISS: What are you currently doing in ministry or for the Kingdom of God?

NH: “Currently, I work as an development coach and mentor for at-risk urban youth/adults (and their families) at UCAN, a local social service agency. I create individualized transitional plans that’s comprised of the abuse/violence endured, goals, and completion date of goals. We participate in virtual weekly meetings to ensure we remain effective and efficient. The achieved goals vary from obtaining employment to securing scholarships/grants. In addition, I support participants as they develop healthy levels of self-sufficiency.”

BLISS: What project or business do you want to share with the BLISSforSingles audience?

NH: “I serve as the CEO of my business: Bloomin’ Queens Co. We strive to empower women as they heal, grow, and lead in the safety of sisterhood. And this is achieved through healthy community, panel discussions, virtual workshops, quarterly events & coaching sessions. Currently, we’re offering a new service called Bloomin’ Talks. Bloomin’ Talks are virtual group coaching sessions that focuses on developing richer levels of self sufficiency while fostering sisterhood! For more info, you can visit bloominqueensco.com

BLISS: Anything else that you’d like to share with us?

NH: “A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms.”

Indeed and amen! Thank you Nadia for sharing your #singlegoals with us! If you or someone else you know should be a part of the #SingleGoals2020 series, please fill out this brief form for consideration!
